The name all ready explain a lot, Mission for Unity.

Mission for Unity is the result of a prayer from over more ten 25 years by Roger Maatje-Fortin.

Roger have spiritual grow up in an ecumenical and interdenominational environment.

He have work for Youth for Christ in the Netherlands, he have connections with the catholic charismatic renewal, Pentacost and Evangelical Churches and Ministries .

In Eindhoven he have been involved with a local foundation of different churches who work together in evangelism and organizing every year in January the night of prayer ‘ st .Steven’,

and he was presentor of a Christian interdenominational radio program 'St. Perspectief'.

He was just 17 years of age when he have meeting with Brother Roger of Taize.

As Young Christian he have visited the community of Taize in France where he had a personal encounter with Brother Roger, the founder of the Taize community. This was one of the first signes of his futher vocation for the Unity.

His mixed Christian background , born in a Catholic family, for 18 years member of a full gospel church, and involved with in the Anglican church . Have made that he have experiences all the aspect of diversity in the body of Christ. As worker for Y.F.C have have visit the different church denominations and was involved in different projects to bring youth of different churches together. Before he married he was involved in the Community of Chemin Neuf as Cicle w member and Net for God Prayer group.

During those years Roger have and pray and work with a longing and a desire to see Christians reconcile between each other and understand what its mean to be United in Christ.

The Vision of Jesus with out Hands

Its was in Toronto Canada where he got in 1995 a Vision during a time of prayer and adoration,

the Holy spirit let him see the Corpus of Christ with out hands , the hands where cut of .

Roger responds of that was to pray and take a time of fasting to seek the answer for that.

He have ask Jesus why his hands where cut of.

After one week he saw receive an other vision, he saw the corpus of Christ, and both hands ,

who still where separated, each of them one meter. He ask Jesus why they are cut of your body.

Jesus by the Holy spirit answer, the right hand are the Catholic church and all of them who

connected with them. And the right hand are the Protestant Churches and all who are connected with them. Then the Lord say , Roger be a bridge builder, I have train and educated you to bring those hands together . Being a bridge of reconciliation, and help me to bring my hands back into my body.

Its after that Roger have study and meditated on the John 17 and the Vocation of Unity.

In the years after this vision Roger have understand that Unity in the body of Christ its

the key that the Church of Christ needed today.

Its in the year 2012 Mission 4 Unity was founded by Roger and his wife Maud .

That was a year after they got married and received the calling

to work for the Unity in France and the rest of the word.

Mission 4 Unity became official on Easter 2012 and became an association in France

and in June 2013 a foundation in the Netherlands.

As member of different Churches we work in Mission 4 Unity together.We are Christians of different Church backgrounds Anglican, Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical, Pentecost, Orthodox…….

Mission for Unity love to serve to local church and help our fellow Christians bothers and sisters

in being an imitation of Christ .

Our Vocation is to be a Bridge builder for the Unity

Our longing is reconciliation, restoration, equipping and serving the body of Christ.

We are Ecumenical, interdenominational.
